The History of the Station
Established in 1876 as a Railroad Depot
Avinger Station operated as such until the mid 20th century
After being put out to pasture, the depot was rescued
from oblivion as a barn and brought back to Avinger in 1998.
It was moved to a more prominent location near its original site in June of 2021
after pondering how the depot might serve the community once again.
Desiring to preserve and improve our community’s heritage of service to travelers and trades, the depot is being restored and will serve as the RV Park office.
